METRO RTA provides Basic Life and AD&D Insurance to all eligible employees at no cost to you. This benefit includes a cash benefit of $15,000 to your loved ones in the event of your death, plus a matching cash benefit if you die in an accident

In addition to basic life insurance, you can enroll in optional life insurance.
You can purchase additional coverage of one to five times your eligible pay up to $100,000. Your rates depend on your age. You receive METRO RTA group rates, and you pay for coverage with after-tax dollars.
If you purchase Supplemental Term Life Insurance for yourself, you get:
- Group discounted rates
- AD&D coverage (for employee supplemental life only)
- To purchase up to $100,000 supplemental life— Evidence of insurability required
If you want permanent, portable coverage now through retirement, add Whole Life Insurance
